
Saving Our Sons (SOS) is hiring for Safe Passage Watchers for Year 2023-2024.
Successful candidates will typically possess the following qualifications:
Able to demonstrate a commitment to serving our students, read and write incident reports, build relationships with students, and de-escalate conflicts, while also being able to physically stand for long periods and tolerate all weather conditions.
Consistent track record for being reliable and on time.
Must be able to pass the CPS Background Check. SOS pays for the fingerprint test.

All Safe Passage workers must be committed to working a total of 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. The exact start and end times will vary by school. In all cases, Safe Passage workers will need to work a split shift to support student arrival and dismissal, meaning people will be expected to work a few hours in the afternoon. Pay is $15.80/hour. All Safe Passage workers will receive training before they begin working, as well as ongoing support to promote a successful experience.
We are looking for applicants in our Drywall & Paint class. This program is funded by ICJIA (R3).
Must be 18-26 years old. The class is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Participants will earn $15/hour learning how to drywall, paint, and frame.
The class is 8-12 weeks.
Certificates will be given to those who graduate.
